Welcome to Eriksens.

We are experienced and respected actuaries and investment consultants.

Our team work around-the-clock to grow and protect our clients’ wealth, forecast liabilities, develop products, improve governance and build great organisations.

We provide ongoing strategy and independent performance reporting to our diverse client base, including iwi, individuals (wholesale), charities, companies, corporate super schemes, endowments and trusts.

We advise with precision, wisdom and pragmatism.

Our Origins

Eriksens was founded in 1995 by Jonathan Eriksen to provide boutique and independent actuarial and investment advice. Eriksens has continued as a family firm and its reputation for independent, sound and cost-effective advice and reporting has grown. Our values have been key pillars for our success to date.

Eriksens’ services include actuarial valuations of all types and sizes, investment strategy and advice, governance, forecasting and product development. We are specialists in superannuation, including KiwiSaver and corporate super schemes, private equity valuations and recommendations.

We relate to our clients by providing them with 100% independent advice that is understandable, objective and fit-for-purpose. We would love the opportunity to work with you to achieve your long term ambitions.

Our Investment Philosophy

Eriksens has a sustainable and pragmatic philosophy when advising on client investments, and our key principles include:

  • Ethical and objective based approach

  • Long-term focus

  • Capital protection is key

  • Using a diverse range of assets to minimise risk

  • Enhance returns where it fits the risk profile

We align our advice to client objectives and monitor a large universe of investment opportunities. We conduct stringent due diligence to ensure our clients have access to the best-in-market investment approaches, which is underpinned by our exceptional expertise in private equity and Australasian actively-managed multi-asset funds. We conduct rigorous independent Responsible Investment reporting and work for our clients, not the investment managers.

Our Approach to Sustainability

Sustainability means managing the challenges and risks facing an organisation to meet the needs of the present, as well as ensuring future generations are better off. To meet our clients’ objectives, some of our team specialise in Responsible Investment research.

Responsible Investing principles are inherent in long term value creation:

  • Environmental

  • Social

  • Governance

  • Cultural

Our work with iwi and charitable trusts here in Aotearoa, with religious organisations in Australia and with corporates and provident funds in Fiji, Nauru, Tuvalu, Tonga and Rarotonga has demonstrated our sensitivity and capability applying ESGC investing principles.

In addition, we run our firm as sustainably as possible, offsetting our travel, composting office waste and running wellbeing initiatives. Every effort counts.
