Great resignation? Or great opportunity?

Over the past two years we have said farewell to five people from our (still) team of ten.

That’s right. We had 50% churn. Of good people, too!

Yet our business has steadily grown, our client services improved and our advice is better than ever.

How was this possible - and how can your business benefit from employee churn, too?

Here are three ways you can ‘catch and release’ the workforce of today:

  1. Grab their good ideas. New recruits have an objective view on your business and their eyes fully open. They may be green, but they're as enthusiastic as they'll ever be. Use it.

  2. Give great training – but stop training what’s not great! If you’re saying “well, it’s the way we’ve always done it,” it’s likely time to review procedures and software solutions.

  3. Think ‘growing or going.’ Lack of career progression increasingly trumps loyalty. If your business has limited career development available, an encouraged exit could end up better than a power struggle.
