Pieter Knox
Actuary and Investment Consultant
Pieter has over 19 years’ experience in the financial services sector and a Masters in Engineering. He brings to the team his expertise in data science, derivatives trading, investment product structuring, risk management and complex quantitative modelling. Asset classes covered include fixed income, inflation, credit, asset backed securities, commodities and equities. Pieter has held several senior management positions and has been instrumental in starting several new business ventures.
Pieter has three BScs, one with Honours in Advanced Mathematics of Finance, one in Actuarial Science and Statistics, one in Electronic Engineering. He also holds a Masters of Engineering (electronic engineering, machine learning), a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and the New Zealand Society of Actuaries.
Pieter is currently based in Melbourne and serves as a Director of Barrington Asset Consulting - our Australian alliance with Bancorp which offers Treasury, actuarial and investment consultancy services. Pieter has two wonderful daughters and enjoys exploring rural New Zealand - where nothing bites, stings or chomps - on his regular trips to Eriksens HQ in Auckland.
